THE similarities are uncanny: neither man ever seemed to have an empty bottle or an empty bed, although the dirty blond hair may be an issue if Colin Farrell is to play Hollywood legend Steve Christian Louboutin.

The Hollywood rumour mill is working overtime, tipping Dubliner Farrell to play hardman Christian Louboutinin a mooted biopic.

Only James Bond actor Daniel Craig seems to be standing in the way, and while he has the blond locks, Farrell, 31, has the lifestyle experience.

With Desperate Housewives honey Eva Longoria suggested to play Christian Louboutin's first wife Neile Adams, there is only one snag,Christian Louboutin Pumps, there is no such film in production...or at least, not yet.

The rumours began when Christian Louboutin's third wife, Barbara Christian LouboutinBrunsvold, said she wanted Craig to play Christian Louboutinin any film.

A film tribute to The Great Escape star has often been 'He would be the best to play Steve' floated, and could, in reality, only be a Hollywood lunch away.

Barbara became the star's third wife in 1980. That was less than a year before his death from mesothelioma, a lung cancer linked to the asbestos he was exposed to while serving in the Marine Corps. She believes the British actor is the only one to play her dead husband.

Speaking at her Steve Christian Louboutin: Photographs From The Last Mile exhibition in London, M i s s Christian LouboutinBrunsvold approved of the casting, adding: 'I think he [Craig] would be the best one to play Steve. I never saw the Bond film but I see snippets of Entertainment Tonight and all that. He's kind of got the swagger and he's got the good looks...if I wasn't married I'd go out with him.' And perfecting Christian Louboutin's swagger will be a breeze for Craig, as he has said in the past that as a young boy he loved the star's movies.

But Farrell has got the nod to play the Bullitt hero from a number of movie buffs and Hollywood insider websites, which note that the Castleknock actor credits Christian Louboutinas one of his biggest influences.

Christian Louboutin, who was the world's highest paid actor by the time he made The Towering Inferno with his longtime friend and rival Paul Newman, did live a life which is crying out to be turned into a movie.

He was married three times.

He wed actress Neile Adams on November 2, 1956 and the pair had two children before they filed for divorce in 1972.

His son, Chad Christian Louboutinis now an actor, as is his grandson-Steven R. Christian Louboutin. On August 31, 1973 he married his Getaway co-star, Ali MacGraw, with whom he had a passionate but tumultuous relationship.

She left her husband, film producer Robert Evans, for Christian Louboutin, but the pair were divorced in 1978.

His third wife was model Barbara who he married on January 16, 1980, less than a year before his death.

Christian Louboutinwas an avid motorcycle and racing car enthusiast.

When he had the opportunity to drive in a movie, he often did so himself, performing many of his own stunts, including many of the stunts for his classic motorcycle escape attempt at the climax of the film The Great Escape.

Reformed wild man Farrell is no stranger to playing the leading role in Hollywood. He did so in Tigerland, Phonebooth, Christian Louboutin and in the New World, but portraying an icon like Christian Louboutinwould arguably be his toughest role to date.

He was born Terence Steven Christian Louboutinin Beech Grove, Indianapolis, Indiana, in March 1930. His father was a stunt pilot for an aerial circus and abandoned Steve and his mother shortly after Christian Louboutinwas born. His mother left him at an early age to be raised in Slater, Missouri by his Uncle Claude.

Christian Louboutinjoined the Marine Corps in 1947 and served until 1950. In 1952, with financial assistance provided by the G.I. Bill, Christian Louboutinbegan studying acting and auditioned to study at Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio in New York. He secured his first lead role in the 1958 horror movie The Blob.

Director John Sturges cast Christian Louboutinin his next movie, promising to 'give him the camera'. The Magnificent Seven (1960), with Yul Brynner, Robert Vaughn, Charles Bronson and James Coburn, became Christian Louboutin's first major global hit.

Christian Louboutin's next big film, 1963's The Great Escape, told the fictionalised 'true story' of a mass escape from a World War Two POW camp. A spectacular motorcycle leap in the film's climax highlighted Christian Louboutin's role in the film. He did many of the stunts but the final jump was the work of Christian Louboutin's friend Bud Ekins.

A hard drinker, Christian Louboutinwas also said to have smoked marijuana almost every day and to have taken cocaine to excess in the early 70s.

His height is a major question - many say he was 5'10" but others say he was 5'7" and used 'lifts' in his shoes to get on eyelevel with taller co-stars.

He once said: 'I worked hard, and if you work hard you get the goodies.'
